Waiting
That’s life isn’t it?
Waiting for a decision
Waiting to be seen
Waiting to be heard
Waiting to go
Waiting to buy
Waiting to sleep
Waiting to play
Waiting to sing
Waiting your life away till its stings
Waiting for love
Waiting for hope
Waiting for the pain to stop
Waiting for the dose
Waiting to post
Waiting to eat
Waiting to drink
Waiting for relief
Waiting for the grief
Waiting to shout
Waiting to talk
Waiting to take the dog for a walk
Waiting to pounce
Waiting to jump
Waiting for the new relationship dump
Waiting here
Waiting there
Waiting up and downstairs
Waiting for passion
Waiting for a dream
Waiting for friendship
Waiting to be redeemed
Waiting, waiting till you scream!
Ever read Waiting For Godot?
no. sorry, not yet.
Nothing for apologising. Your poem reminds me of it. It’s an Irish existential comedy.
Not a HAHA comedy, either. More the Greek kind.
Ironic humour? Sarcastic humour? LOL I do those. Tragic humour? ugh I don’t know really. lol, funny I do read a lot of classic stuff. I didn’t think it rubbed off though.
Fair. There is plenty of irony and sarcasm. I don’t like sad either. I’d prefer my comedy fat and happy. It’s about a pair of Irish tramps planning to leave because the guy they’re waiting for ghosts em, but they don’t ever go. It’s a commentary on everybody being paralysed by life.
I can only write what’s in my heart. When I am happy I am a care bear, but that’s not too regular an occurrence.
That is, sadly, relatable. It’s something I’m working on. Don’t want my son to grow up with sad dad, and I try to be bright for my wife whom is easily distraught.
I am not very vocal offline about my depression, thoughts and feelings. People who know me offline, would never guess I am going through all this.
Funny, isn’t it? That it’s easier to use the interwebz as a platform for self analysis/regulation. I am lucky, in that I do have a good friend with whom I have enough in common to truly vent. But those are rare birds, indeed.
