It doesn’t work

This sore is just not mending

I will stop pretending that it doesn’t hurt

Because it doesn’t work

I shouldn’t shirk the realities of life

I should grit my teeth through the strife and bare it

Grin like the Cheshire and wear it like a badge of pride
