twilight storm
The twilight storm has approached, cooling the air
Earthy smells encroach my senses to despair
I wrap up warm under shelter
I feel the dampness of this eventide
I see the mass of clouds mounting up high
Grey bubbles bubbling up and up
A distant rainbow appears
As I notice the colors it goes
Then rain comes down in dewy blows like tender tears
How I love this eventide
How I love its climate
How I’d love to play with God’s template for it
Bleary eventide
You are beautiful to me
Perhaps one day you’ll come and let me go with thee?

Little sea maiden
Rising up into the wistful rainy night, I don’t see the stars shining bright
Awoken from my bed of sea, I sit on a rock and sulk grumpily
There are no boats out this eventide
No one to call to doom
I’ll sit and wait for the sailors to come
So I can sing my tune
Little fishes swim with me
Under the beautiful briny sea
A pearl necklace around my neck
I wait for you or a shipwreck
How beautiful you see me now
Sitting on my rock
But if you’re wise you’ll know what I am
And your ears you will block
Oh come to me dear sailor
My friend and my foe
I know you have faraway places that you are meant to go
But I will bring you jewels a plenty
My beauty is unparalleled
Come closer to the water, and I will show you hell
