death everyday

Humans have it easy

When you sit back and think

Animals in the wild see death and do not blink

Every day they live their lives in the fear of the unknown

This is what they’re used to

This is how they’re grown

A little bird on the wing once isolated to a nest

Filled of dead brothers and sisters

Rotten to the flesh

It carries on its little life as if it doesn’t care

But that is how it survives, because it knows that life’s unfair

Gazelles on the African plain run for their lives each day

They grow to see their neighbors, friends, relatives picked away

Yet do they sit and mope all day?

Do they have time to mourn?

Please remember what I’ve said above, and don’t be too forlorn

Human have it easy in comparison to them

Just take life as it comes, do not, yourself condemn

  1. I think death is what makes life special. Knowing that it will come to an end is what motivates us to make the most of what we have. A good piece! I will return to read more.

I have a new writing blog that I created after self-publishing my first novel on the Kindle. Please check it out and share your writing experiences with me!
